NASDEA Celebrates 50th Anniversary

January 1st, 2025

This year marks the 50th anniversary of NASDEA.  NASDEA was established in 1975 to allow for greater coordination between state drug law enforcement agencies and provide a forum to share information about best practices in drug enforcement.  The Southeastern states initially recognized the need for coordinating state drug efforts. Later, membership expanded to include state-level drug law enforcement agencies from all fifty states, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

To celebrate this milestone, attendees from member states will gather at two conferences this year.  Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will host the Spring conference in St. Augustine, Florida and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) will host the Fall conference in Kansas City, Kansas.  Through conferences like these, NASDEA’s member agencies will continue working together to keep their citizens safe from dangerous drugs, just as NASDEA’s founders envisioned 50 years ago.
