OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

  • Facilitating access for NASDEA member agencies to the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC).
  • Securing the establishment of a National Drug Pointer Index to enhance officer safety and strengthen investigations. 
  • Engaging with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to ensure inclusion of accurate drug data in the Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR) launched in 1992. 
  • Promoting a national evidence-based Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.
  • Working with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to establish policies that further enhance coordination with NASDEA members.
  • Securing a NASDEA representative on the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Committee.
  • Engaging with the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
  • Participates as a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s State and Local Intelligence Council (SLIC). 
  • Assisting member agencies in the development and establishment of:
    • Associate Member of the Nationwide Deconfliction Council
    • Associate Member of the National Narcotic Officers' Associations' Coalition
    • Clandestine Laboratory Programs
    • Innovative Contemporary Investigative Strategies
    • Marijuana Eradication Programs
    • Officer Safety Training
    • Operation Pipeline Highway Drug Interdiction Programs
    • Precursor Chemical Monitoring Programs
    • Programs to increase staffing and funding
    • Assist member agencies in the development of policies and procedures
