August 29th, 2025

On August 29, 2025, with approval of Maine Governor Janet Mills, Maine Commissioner of Public Safety, Michael Sauschuck administered the oath of office to Scott Pelletier as the Director of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Director Pelletier is a thirty-eight-year veteran of law enforcement, twenty-two years assigned to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency was established by the State of Maine Legislature in 1992 and in the agency’s thirty-three-year history, Director Pelletier is the first Director to have served in all positions within the agency; as a Task Force Special Agent, Task Force Supervisor, and Agency Commander.

On behalf of the entire NASDEA organization we wish Director Pelletier the very best as he takes on this new position.
